Wedding and Reception Details

Well, it’s now less than a month away for our big day! These last couple months have gone by so fast, planning, organizing and working hard at not becoming some form of a “Zilla”! We cannot wait for the big day, and we are so excited to have you all up and Brian’s work for the wedding and reception. We’ve had a few questions as of late about attire, transportation and general information about the wedding day and weekend. So we will try and answer your questions below.

Wedding Colors:

Our wedding theme is “Spring In Bloom” In Sonoma County we have a true spring with bulbs blooming along roadsides and throughout the vineyards! Think vibrant, warm and fun colors.

Wedding Attire:

The wedding will be taking place outside, weather permitting, be prepared for temperatures in the high 60’s low 70’s. We encourage women to not wear high heals since the grass can be uneven. The reception is taking place in the Barrel Room, again it will be in the 60’s and again PLEASE no high heels.
The wedding party is semi formal, only the Groom and Father of the Bride are wearing tuxedos. We like to call this “Wine County Formal”!

Venue Information:
Stryker Sonoma is a small production winery in Alexander Valley. The estate is 32 acres of stunning property located on a slight knoll in the middle of the valley. Brian helps the winemaking team of Tim Hardin and Jenn Berman produce around 4,000 cases of wine a year. The focus of the winery is on Bordeaux Varietals; Cabernet Sauvignon,  Petit Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet franc. They also make 4 Zinfandels and two white wines; Semillon and Chardonnay. These wines have won numerous awards through the years, including the Sweepstakes Award at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair, the Super Bowl of wine in Sonoma County.
The Winery itself is an architectural gem, inspired by the prarie style of Frank Llyod Wright a low slung copper roof follows the contures of the knoll and leads to a two story glass tasting room. Recently featured at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and awarded the AIA award for new architecture in Northern California.
Brian and his co-workers take great pride in both the wines and winery and ask that we all follow a few rules during the wedding.
  • No Smoking, ANYWHERE!
  • No outside Booze (Spirits, Wine, etc) Don’t worry we will have plenty for you!
  • Please respect the equipment, and barrels in the Barrel Room, everyone has worked so hard on the last two vintages we would hate to see a barrel ruined by someone pulling open a bung or damaging winemaking equipment.
  • If you would like to see more pictures of the winery visit their facebook page www.facebook.com/StrykerSonoma
